These are the most common and uncomfortable states that we experience. Experiencing symptoms associated with past painful and traumatic past events can trigger and keep anxiety and depression in place. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing in order to recover motivation, perspective, and joy.
We are relational beings. We experience our greatest wounds and find our greatest strengths from relationships. Whether you want to explore your past, current, or future relationship(s), they are treasures of self discovery. Working individually or as a couple, we can process the excitement/anxiety of beginnings, pain/relief of endings as well as navigate the mystery/magic in between.

Taking a closer look at what drives you through the lens of the Enneagram personality drive system. You’ll learn your drive, your paths of stress and health, how to move from automatic reactions to conscious responses, and how to understand and best interact with others (partners, family, friends, colleagues). A powerful self-awareness, transformational, and relational tool, the Enneagram also offers further expansive connection to the world at large and claiming one’s place in the pursuit of peace for all.
Building upon 25 years in the therapy world, I offer my clients a holistic healing experience: working creatively and intuitively with all four human "bodies": mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Depending on client interest and need, my work with clients may include and draw from: psychotherapeutic/spiritual exploration, shadow work, meditation/visualization, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, EFT, energy psychology, personality drive integration using Enneagram, Human Design, Divination card drawings, and Reiki.
I enrolled at Furman University to earn a BA in English and ended up taking an elective in Sociology from a professor who was a retired police officer. His street-wise stories and compelling compassion persuaded me to double major. I then earned my Master of Teaching English in 1993 from Emory University. I taught one year with mostly disinterested students. Not my calling. I changed careers and entered software technical communication and design. During my own personal development and therapy, I decided to change careers again to become a therapist. I earned a Master of Social Work in 2003 from the University of Georgia and practiced as and LCSW 2006-2022. I have over 22 years in metaphysics, am a 2nd level Reiki Practitioner, have completed coursework through IITAP International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals.
I have 24 years experience in helping people find their truth, their voice, understanding and overcoming obstacles in their life. I have a Master Level Life Coach Certification with specialties in Personal Development, Spirituality, Grief and Loss, Happiness, Overcoming Life Obstacles and techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I primarily work with clients that want help with challenges in life involving family (of origin or choice), loss and grief, life transitions/obstacles, and reclaiming happiness. I focus on being true to ourselves, our spirit, our worth, value, and self esteem.
Sessions are 60 minutes and can be held via Zoom or in person. You many also enjoy "walk-n-talk" sessions on the beautiful boardwalk trails at Mason Mill Park off Clairmont Road.
Metta was featured on an Atlanta news channel to introduce her innovative approach to in person sessions. While some clients still prefer the convenience of Telehealth, many have welcomed this new mobile meeting space. Sessions take place inside the private, spacious, climate-controlled Sweet Journey transit van parked at local parks and neighborhoods. We can also sit outside or walk and talk on park trails. who we think we are and who we are becoming seems too long, broken down, or invisible.
Let's start crossing despite it all, one step at a time, repairing along the way, and seeing what we didn't know was there.
In time, you'll be so far beyond the chasm you won't remember the moment of crossing.
